Venture Capital Business Funding Secrets | Fund Business Solutions

If you are a new business owner you may find yourself a little confused by the different types of loans and investors. One of the most complicated to understand is called a venture capital agreement. This type of agreement is often overlooked, but it may be an excellent opportunity for you to fund your business. In this article we will go over business funding secrets that involve venture capital.

What is Venture Capital?

Put simply, it is the assets that a business owner puts down when asking an investor for a loan. This may sound similar to a bank loan with an attached personal guarantee, but it is a little different. Since it is an investor putting down the money, they expect to gain a larger profit from the company compared to what they invested in it. A Venture capital firm will also sometimes want to have some rights over how your company is run, considering that they want to make a big profit.

Only certain types of companies are suitable for this type of agreement.

If you are a company that is expected to make a large return profit in a short amount of time, this could be one of the best kept business funding secrets for you. If your business is expected to have slow growth, only needs a little money for start up costs, or if you are determined to run your business your own way, venture capital is not the way to go.

Pros and Cons of Venture Capital

There are many things to consider before getting a capital loan. Although they are a way for you to completely fund your business, you have to sacrifice a lot to do so. Not only are you potentially giving up the assets you put down, you also can't have as much control over your business. On the other hand, not having as much control may be a good thing. Venture capital investors are highly experienced in what they do, often limiting themselves to a single type of company to invest in. They will be able to direct you to the best business solutions, although they may make changes in your company's organization, possibly including the way it is managed.

It is also very difficult to get this type of loan. The investors really want to see that they are going to make a high profit off of your company in a short amount of time. You have to have solid foundations for your business plans and proof that your idea will work. You must be able to make the investor excited about your business, or they will think it is not worthwhile for them to invest in. Don't think you are limited to this type of loan however, because there are plenty of other business funding secrets out there that you may not know about. If you think this is not for you, consider looking into a private investor, or getting funding from banks.

Tupac Takes Coachella Stage Via Hologram With Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg

The pair's historic set also included surprise guests Eminem, 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa.

INDIO, CaliforniaDr. Dre and Snoop Dogg wowed Coachella's final night Sunday with a roster of guests way beyond what even the rumors could have predicted. Backed by a live band and unexpectedly artsy video screens, no less than Eminem, 50 Cent, Warren G and a hologram of Tupac graced the stage.

As if that wasn't enough, Wiz Khalifa also joined the West Coast hip-hop legends for the anthem of the weekend, "Young, Wild and Free," which had the crowd singing the chorus in unison: "So what we get drunk/ So what we smoke weed/ We're just having fun/ We don't care who sees/ So what we go out/ That's how it's supposed to be/ Living young and wild and free."

Kendrick Lamar — who performed an afternoon set on the main stage Friday — also joined the pair for "The Recipe," his new joint featuring Dre, who introduced him as "straight outta Compton."

After their own "The Next Episode" and "Deep Cover (187 on an Undercover Cop)," Dre and Snoop covered House of Pain's "Jump Around." The hardest moment of the night came when 50 Cent stormed the stage for "What Up Gangsta" with Tony Yayo by his side, segueing into "P.I.M.P." with tropical calypso steel drums and his 2003 breakthrough hit, "In Da Club."

Snoop paid homage to his late homey Nate Dogg, performing "Ain't No Fun" alongside Kurupt and Warren G as the screens displayed photos of Nate, Snoop and the rest of the Dogg Pound.

The appearance of the late Tupac in very realistic hologram form, which was amazing to some and creepy to others, brought "Hail Mary" and "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted."

Eminem even came out for "I Need a Doctor," a dubstep-flavored "Forgot About Dre" and "Till I Collapse."

Capping their historic set with "What's My Name?" and "Still D.R.E.," Dre and Snoop disappeared below the stage with the Good Doctor proclaiming to the adoring audience, "I wanna say thank you for the love for so many years."

Sunday's surprise guests didn't stop there though, as Rihanna joined Calvin Harris for her latest single, "Where Have You Been," and "We Found Love," and Rage Against the Machine spitter Zack de la Rocha lent his lyrics to DJ Shadow.

Earlier in the night, the main stage was handled by French electronic duo Justice and the much-anticipated At the Drive-In reunion. The influential post-hardcore band had heads banging to "Pattern Against User," "Lopsided," "Enfilade" and slowed it down a bit with the melodic "Napoleon Solo."

Elsewhere, the Sahara dance tent hosted Avicii, the Weeknd grooved a huge crowd at the Outdoor Stage as he sang the sun down with his soulful jams, and Florence and the Machine had the ladies lifted with the frontwoman's request that the "strong gentleman in the house" offer their shoulders for "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)."

In response to last year's event selling out — a week after the 2011 lineup was announced — the festival is experimenting with featuring the same artists for two consecutive three-day weekends: April 13-15 and April 20-22.

At Coachella's uncharacteristically cold and glooming first day Friday, the Black Keys and Swedish House Mafia kept fans warm. Saturday brought Radiohead, Bon Iver and David Guetta with Usher.

Nas Gives 'Behind The Music' Viewers 'A Peek Inside'

'If you don't tell your story, somebody else will,' he tells MTV News about why he decided to open up.

Nas has earned a reputation for being a man of few words during interviews, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that the Queens rapper agreed to film a segment of VH1's "Behind the Music." Just as we suspected, though, Nas was very reluctant to open up for the cameras, as he told MTV News.

"It was tough. I didn't want to do 'Behind the Music,' " Nas admits, reflecting on his decision to go through with the taping. "I didn't. But at some point, if you don't tell your story, somebody else will. So I gave them a little peek inside. It can't hurt, just a little peek inside."

In a preview clip from the episode, Nas talks about growing up in the Queensbridge Housing Projects and watching his parents separate at a young age, in addition to talking about his storied hip-hop career. "You can never forget where you come from, no matter how far you go," he says. "In the neighborhood where I'm from, people are killed for nothing. You can't just ignore it. That's the beauty of rap music, because we're going to give you the side that no one wants to talk about."

Before sitting down for the interview, Nas said he didn't know what he would reveal. "I didn't know what I would give them. I just sat down and talked," he said. "I knew that I just needed to say enough. And as I'm talking, I realize, 'Damn, there's a lot of life here.' I'm just giving it to them how I feel, but I'm realizing how much more there is."

For someone known to be tight-lipped, Nas is opening up quite a bit this year. Whatever tales are left untold in his "Behind the Music" episode, fans will find in his upcoming autobiography, which is being penned with help from writer Touré. "The crazy thing is, I just did a book deal to write about my life," Nas said. "At first I thought, 'This is cool,' but then I was going back and forth on it and finally said, 'Let me just do it, man, it's just life.' "

"I've been talking to Touré, and he's been putting the book together," he added. "I thought it would take me two years [to finish], but just with the stuff I gave him, it's enough. It's so much already. I can't give you everything."

Nas' "Behind the Music" debuts Thursday, April 19, at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.

FarFaria Brings A Hulu For Kids? Stories To The iPad

farfaria-main"Grumpy Cat! Grumpy Cat! More Grumpy Cat, please!" - That's basically my two-year-old's review of FarFaria, a new subscription-based children's storybook app for the iPad. (To translate: she loves it, and especially that story about the grumpy cat.) The app, to be clear, doesn't just offer the one story - not that my kid seems to care right now - it's a collection of nearly one hundred stories with more added all the time. And despite being independently sourced and illustrated (or perhaps because of it), the stories are actually really good.

China sends 3rd ship in standoff with Philippines

MANILA, Philippines (AP) ? China deployed a third ship Thursday in an area of the disputed South China Sea where a tense standoff with Philippine vessels has dragged on, sparking alarm in Manila.

Chinese and Filipino diplomats have been scrambling to resolve the dangerous impasse at the Scarborough Shoal off the northwestern Philippines that erupted Tuesday. A Philippine warship attempted to arrest several Chinese fishermen accused of illegal entry and poaching, but was prevented by the arrival of two Chinese surveillance ships.

One of the Chinese ships blocked the entrance to a lagoon at the shoal, where at least eight Chinese fishing vessels were anchored. The Chinese ships also ordered the Philippine warship to leave Scarborough, claiming Chinese sovereignty over the rich fishing ground.

But the warship has stayed put, arguing it is Philippine territory.

Philippine navy chief Vice Admiral Alexander Pama said the BRP Gregorio del Pilar warship was withdrawn from Scarborough Thursday for refueling and was replaced by a Philippine coast guard ship. The move was not a retreat or concession of any kind to China, he said.

"We're not retreating from our own territory," Pama said.

Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario said he will ask Chinese ambassador Ma Keqing to explain the arrival of a third Chinese surveillance ship at Scarborough, which he said lies well within his country's territorial waters and off the northwestern Philippine province of Zambales. Despite the new concern, del Rosario said he would continue talks with Ma to resolve the impasse, possibly this week.

"We're watching developments and at the same time we're pursuing the diplomatic track," Del Rosario said. "We're moving forward but it's still a work in progress."

Del Rosario proposed an arrangement to end the impasse during talks with Ma, who was expected to relay the Chinese government's reply soon, according to two Philippine officials monitoring the negotiations.

Del Rosario declined to provide details of the proposal, but said it was a "win-win" solution designed to rapidly end the standoff. The stranded Chinese fishermen were not expected to be able to stay for long at the uninhabited shoal because they may run out of food and other provisions.

Del Rosario said he wanted the problem resolved before he leaves Sunday for a weeklong U.S. trip.

Aside from Scarborough, the South China Sea is home to a myriad of competing territorial claims, most notably the Spratly Islands south of the shoal, an island chain claimed by China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia and Taiwan. The barren Spratly islands, reefs and coral outcrops are believed to be in rich in oil and gas and the overlapping claims have long been feared as Asia's next flashpoint for armed conflict.

The Chinese Embassy said the fishing boats had taken shelter from a storm in the lagoon and accused Philippine troops of harassment. But Philippine authorities claimed the fishermen illegally entered their territory then collected giant clams, live sharks and other endangered marine species in violation of local laws.

The situation at the shoal remained relatively calm, although the Philippine military spotted a suspected Chinese surveillance aircraft which briefly flew over the shoal Wednesday, Pama said.

The United States said it was concerned by the increased tensions in the South China Sea. "We urge all parties to exercise full restraint and seek a diplomatic resolution," a State Department spokesperson said on customary condition of anonymity.
